Excellent for strong hands
I bought this kettle for my elderly parents and it is too heavy for my mother to lift. She also doesn't like the fact that it is not possible to see the water level and that it is rather difficult to close the lid. It has to be pressed firmly and then twisted. When one pours the water, lid cannot be touched because it is hot. My father had no difficulty but it is used by all family members and for those with young children it might be a hazard. It is made in China.
Great ceramic kettle
I was looking for an alternative to plastic electric kettles, and I found this ceramic one more aesthetic than steel ones. I have had it for two weeks, and it works just fine up till now. It is probably not the most practical choice though. The lid is not that convenient to take off - I often fear to break the loop handle when doing so. And being ceramic of course there is a greater chance of braking it. So, just as often, there is aesthetics vs. practicality trade-off here :-).
Perfect for my needs.
I needed an electic kettle for my small kitchen. I was looking for a red color, but saw this at amazon. It heats quick and keeps water hot for a while. The ceramic is beautiful & great for entertaining. Its heavy but you get use to it. I recommend this kettle. I ordered one for my mother in black.
