Lint Trap with TURN KEY LID FASTENING SYSTEM

Works Like A Gem!
I purchased a new GE dryer last year. Unfortunately, the built in lint filter just didn't cut it, and I ended up having to vacuum out the vent line every couple months - a REAL hassle! This unit simply splices into the 4" standard duct line and viola you have a simple and easy to clean secondary trap. It is made of heat resistant high temp plastics. Has an easy to remove clear front panel that snaps on and off. You can easily see if it needs cleaning. Filter cleans with a simple wipe of your hand - just like the built in dryer filter. Has mounting ears so unit can be easily screwed to a wall, but I just used heavy duty double sticky tape. As far as I've found, there are no negative factors for this item. Solid construction. Easy to use. Easy to clean. Easy to install. Works flawlessly.

Works great, but.....
I bought and installed this item about 4 weeks ago. Has been working great. But this week, every time the dryer kicks on, the cover pops off. The cover just snaps onto little nubs/bumps on the inside of the box. Either they have worn down or the heat has caused the box to change size enough so that the nubs and the clips don't make sufficient pressure to hold the cover in place. I had to rig a couple of metal brackets on the wall around the trap to hold the cover on. The trap needs a more positive latch to keep the cover in place.

not great
The plastic piece in the front (see the product picture) pops off occasionally when there's too much air from the dryer which I feel should be designed to handle air
