Better quality than the original.
I was impress for the quality of this product , excellent, the material provide better filtration and the durability is just great.
Never Knew
I didn't know I was supposed to replace this thing until a girlfriend mentioned it to me. Works just fine in the vac.
No problem with dirt trapping but inconvenient compared to the original DirtDevil version.
I have no complaint about the dirt trapping ability of this unit. My problem is with the deviation of design from the original Dirt Devil filter. The original Dirt Devil filter has a horizontal bar going across the top, which makes it easy to twist it on/off the dirt container. This particular generic replacement does not have that bar. As a result, if you want to pour out the debris from the dirt container, you must use your fingers to pick/twist the lid of the dirt container. And, to remove the filter itself, you must use your hand to grab onto the bottom portion of the filter and twist it off the dirt container lid. I'm not saying that this is 100% unbearable dirty work (one could certainly do this with gloves on). However, I definitely prefer the Dirt Devil original design, which I can just use the cross bar to remove the filter or lid, without having to intimately holding onto the entire dirty filter. For this reason I think I will just go back to the original Dirt Devil...
