Great BIG microwave, not for the simple-minded
I bought this microwave to replace a Panasonic that died after about 8 years.

TECHNICAL DETAILS:
The "TrueCook Plus" gimmick seems a little silly, but I've never used it. There's a website with a list of the foods that use TCP, but in the grocery store I never see the TCP symbol. If you cook all your meals from frozen dinners in the microwave, this might have some value, but as of April 2011 there just aren't that many foods using TCP.

It has way too many buttons: The Quick Touch sensor, alone, has separate buttons for cooking: potato, rice, popcorn, fresh vegetable, frozen vegetable, and frozen entree, as well as a quick touch "reheat" button which can reheat either 1) a dinner plate, 2) soup/sauce, or 3) casserole. (WHERE'S THE REHEAT BUTTON FOR PIZZA????) The key is, you don't have to enter a time or power, the microwave figures it out based on the sensor. I always have to refer to the manual to do it, but so far it has worked very well for cooking...

Two defective units
I REALLY hate reviews that slam a product because the consumer happened to get a defective unit. Nothing is perfect, especially mass produced appliances. Now, having said that, I'm going to give this microwave 1 star.

I bought this microwave at a local big box store, and it was defective. There was a loud buzzing noise, and it looked as though one of the screws on the back of the microwave near the vent was sparking. Uh oh! That doesn't sound safe!

We took the microwave back to the big box store, and they didn't have any in stock for an exchange. Well, I really liked the features of this microwave so I was willing to drive to another location to get another one. When I plugged this new unit in, the fan, light and turntable powered up on it's own. I could enter a cooking time, and it would count down, but once it got to zero, the fan and light and turntable stayed on. I didn't test if it was actually microwaving or not. I called LG to make sure I wasn't missing an...

A great performer for the price...with some reservations
After LOTS of research by me, this unit made the short list of three selected on the basis of aethetics by my partner. Online reviews ranked this LG model almost as well as the Sharp R-530ES, but the LG was almost $100 less. The 2 year warranty was ultimately the deal clincher.

Thus far we haven't used every feature, but have used it enough to learn it's 20% more powerful than our (now deceased) KitchenAid microwave, and heats items very evenly. My partner is less than happy about the degree of doneness for autocooking bacon (preferring crispier bacon than I), but I think it's perfect, and much more consistent than our old KitchenAid, which delivered bacon anywhere from barely cooked to almost black.

I really appreciate the curved cavity, as one of the problems we had with our KitchenAid was our maid's tendancy to wipe the corners with a damp rag and then close the door, causing both corners to rust over time. I also appreciate the greater capacity and larger...

Holmes HM1761-U 2Gal Cool Mist Humidifier

Use Bacteriostat and the filter will last for the season
We have 2 of these humidifiers, and they work very well. We require the white noise for sleeping, so we love that it is loud. The tank lasts for two nights (about 24 hours running time. We add a capful of Holmes Bacteriostat to the water each time, and no mold grows on the filter. This product is basically peroxide, and the bottle lasts all winter for two humidifiers. My only complaint is that there is no way to clean off the fan blades, and after three years of use we need new machines. Still, I think they are a great value and they help eliminate stuffy noses at our house!

Regret selecting this humidifier
We have owned this unit for approximately 3-4 months and have had to change the filter four times now. At about $10 per filter, the cost of ownership is just not worth it. After about a month of use, the filters begin to smell musty or moldy, requiring us to change them (or fill the room with musty smelling moisture).

As humidifiers go, the unit is a bit loud, although as another reviewer said, the 'white noise' type of sound doesn't bother our sleep.

We're definitely searching for a new humidifier - this one is becoming to expensive to continue using.

Loud, but I like it
I actually like the fact that it is loud. I bought it for my kids' room. I like the white noise factor; it helps them both sleep.

I keep it upstairs and I can't hear it downstairs. Doesn't bother me at all. Easy to clean and fill.

Supco WV8046 Replacement Icemaker Dual Solenoid Water Valve for Whirlpool Icemakers

Supco replacement Dual solenoid valve
The valve works great and the reason I purchased this item was to change over from the cheap push on plastic type connection to the refrig. The push on type hose became defective and cause several thousand dollars worth of damage. The solenoid allowed me to go to a 3/8" hose connection. The 3/8" hose also comes with an automatic shutoff.

I put one in a couple years ago.
Just to let you know, It has been running non-stop for two years. I hope this helps. Very simple install. Lots of parts you won't need.

Nik Schmitt Fermenting Crock Pots 10 Liter

Arrived in one piece!!!
This has to be one of my most cherished possessions!
Many reviews state that they received their crock in several pieces. Mine arrived packaged in TWO boxes and TONS OF PACKING MATERIAL. I really think that after a few broken returns, Amazon got their act together and padded the dickens out of this thing! I really should have bought the 15 or 20 liter crock but then again I love to give Sauerkraut to everyone!!!
If you have never owned a fermentation crock, I urge you to buy one. It will last your whole life and you will love what you can make! It is so easy and makes a great family project. Getting the kids involved in making healthy food and showing them the fermentation process is a wonderful thing.

Love this item
I purchased this crock on a Friday afternoon and had it on my door step on Monday. Wow was that fast. And the crock is so great. Even though these types of crocks seem to be pricey, they are worth it. They are made with the extra height to allow for a full 2 gallon capacity. I have cabbage in mine right now fermenting, it to sauerkraut. It is sitting in my kitchen and by putting the water in the trough with water as instructed, and it really does seal the crock. Like I said for now it is in my kitchen and there are no odors excaping from the crock. Next week will be time to move it to a cooler location, so it will be moved to the basement. These crocks are excellent quality, as well as the included stones. Makes making sauerkraut and pickles, etc, just plain fun and easy!!

nothing like fresh sauerkraut
I have made sauerkraut before - trying to keep the container cool and sealed, sterilizing bricks to weight - - only made sauerkraut every couple of years because of the hassle - I could not believe how easy and better tasting the sauerkraut was with the fermenting crock! I hope to try fermenting some other vegetables over the winter after I've finished with all of my cabbage.

Jiffy Steamer Steamboard

Totally Disappointed
The Jiffy Steamer Board was not at all what I expected. 1)It is much too heavy to hang over an average door 2)It did not have pre-drilled holes for attaching the over-the-door hardware and 3) the on-line picture shows a garment clamp at the top holding a pair of pants while it arrived with an eye screw and coat hanger which would position clothes too low for easily steaming. I returned it!!!

Easy to use
I bought this steamboard to use with my Jiffy steamer and I love it. It comes with 2 different ways to install it: a wall mount and an over the door bracket. I used the over the door hook/bracket because I have a door in my laundry room in a convenient location to steam clothes. This board makes using the steamer really easy. It comes with a hanger with 2 clips to secure the garment being steamed (like a trouser hanger) and I like to clip the bottom hem of a pant leg pulled taut to make it really simple for me to get quick, crease free results. I highly recommend this board if you have a garment steamer; it really makes it that much easier and faster to remove wrinkles from your clothes.

I purchased these replacement drip pans in addition to another model a couple weeks ago because the product description didn't say which range models these would work in. (These DO NOT work in GE or Hotpoint ranges so don't buy them if you have either of those brands. I have a GE so this set has to go back.) I see Amazon has updated the description since I bought these to include all the range brands these drip pans will work in. However, the set info is wrong. The set of 4 drip pans for model #10124XZ includes 3 SMALL drip pans and 1 LARGE one -- NOT 2 small and 2 large.

Technivorm Moccamaster Thermo Coffeemaker

Great design, solid build, superb coffee
I have been using Capresso drip machines for several years (MT500 then MT600). Finally made the leap to the Technivorm and can confidently say it was well worth the investment. The machine is well-designed and well-built. It fulfills all of the "coffee geek" requirements perfectly -- brew temperature and speed, good showering of the ground coffee, and excellent temperature retention in the thermal carafe. The coffee tastes great -- the correct brewing temperature produces good extraction and eliminates unwanted bitterness.

I love that this new model has the brew-through lid. It's not a big deal to pour my first cup and then place the solid lid on the carafe. I'll just have to get used to rinsing and setting the brew-through lid on the counter next to the machine.

My only criticism is very slight. It comes with a removable base upon which to set the carafe under the brew basket. The piece is a bit flimsy and will not stay attached to the machine when I...

Technivorm Moccamaster-new model
Already have the small Technivorm (8 cup) coffeemaker....coffee is awesome and I've been extremely happy with it. When I decided to purchase another Technivorm for my primary residence, I decided to get the new model which has the 'brew-stop" feature (other Technivorm models don't offer that feature). I've had trouble getting the right coffee strength with the new model; evidently when Technivorm added the brew-stop feature, they eliminated the "coffee strength setting" on that model which controls how fast the water flows through the coffee (based on whether you want to make 1-4 cups or larger quantities). Although the instructions in the box indicate the coffee filter holder has a switch for the strength setting on the new model, mine does not. Technivorm must use one instruction sheet for a variety of models, and not all models have the same features, so beware! I like the brew stop feature, but not at the expense of setting the coffee strength. The other issue I have with all...

Great coffee, but there are issues...
First, this coffeemaker makes great coffee. It's quick, and once you get used to the quirks it's easy to use. However, as other people have pointed out, for this price it is a major disappointment that you have to buy a separate gold filter basket. We've had the coffeemaker for a year now, and during that time, the flow control lever on the filter basket has broken twice. There is a strip of metal that acts as a spring on a stopper valve at the bottom of the basket which comes loose and then the coffee doesn't come out of the basket. This makes a wonderful mess when the coffee overflows the basket. The first time it happened, I tried unsuccessfully to fix it, but when you try to work the mechanism, the spring and stopper pop out and there isn't much you can do to put it back. We got a replacement filter basket in the end. Now it's happened again, and I won't even bother to do anything this time. So, no more half pots of coffee, no more stopping the flow in the middle of a brew cycle...

Mary Ellen's Best Press Clear Starch Alternative 16 Ounces-Caribbean Beach

Glad I tried this!
I was hesitant to try this product as I was afraid it would accumulate on the plate of my iron. So far, no problem with that and I am happy with the more "finished" look it gives my ironing.

REALLY GREAT PRODUCT
I never thought anything could replace starch, but this one does! I ordered all the scents it came in, so I could decide which I liked, which was a good idea, as one of the scents doesn't work well for me. We're all different, anyway, so order one or two or three and pick your favorite. Then you can just order the large size refill jugs of that. This stuff works great, gives a nice crisp finish, and doesn't attract bugs like starch does. Life is good, even when ironing!

Quilting starch
Left some spots where sprayed but did not flake like regular starch. Will try to " mist " more to see if that eliminates spots. Have not used before cutting fabric as suggested. Will be interested to see if it makes cutting easier.

Fantastic, battery lasted 5 years....Filter cleaning tip.
We bought this when our first child learned to crawl and we had to clean crumbs, etc off the floor before she ate them. Now we're again finding it indispensable for number two and three (now ages 1, 3, and 5)

I like it for:

1) Handle installs and removes quickly and easily.
2) vacuum hangs easy on the charger - some other ones we've had are tricky to pop into the charger correctly if you want it to be installed vertically.
3) Power roller bar - really sucks up those cheerios quickly, even on hard floors.
4) Easily removable battery - charger has a second battery charging slot so you can swap out.

When I bought this the cashier at Target told me that this was what they used to clean up spills in the store. It's now almost 3 years old and the battery is starting to show it's age (It's easily removable so I'll be buying a spare soon)

How It Performs on Heavy Cleanup Jobs
I bought this to relieve myself of the task of dragging around my Miele canister vacuum. I didn't expect the Eureka to replace the Miele, only to do a quick daily cleanup job on hard-to-clean floors. My floors are covered with 600 sq. ft. of carpeting, a half-dozen mats and 900 sq. ft. of porcelain tile floors that are pockmarked with thousands of craggy, dirt-collecting divots. In addition, the grout lines are deeply recessed.

My two English Springer spaniels shed like mad and leave trails of kibble bits all over the place; I discover kibble fragments in some of the most unlikely places (linen closet, hall bathroom). In addition, the dogs "decorate" the floors with tufts of stuffing and shredded chunks of latex from their toys.

I live in the desert, where sand blows into the living and dining rooms. When the garden sprinklers are on and the desert winds suddenly whip up to 45 mph, a spray of water shoots through the living room screen doors, creating tiny mud...

Best Vacumn Around
I have been looking and looking for a cordless sweeper I could use in my kitchen and on my steps. They all were not powerful enough. Until I found this one. It picks up everything and the battery never dies, and if it would they provide you with a second one! It was a little hard to find, but that just told me it was a great product. Frigidaire Professional Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker

Excellent. Great features, no negatives.
I work at home and drink coffee throughout the day. This is the best coffee maker I've used, for the following reasons:

1. The thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours - as opposed to a regular glass carafe which basically 'cooks' the coffee for hours if left on or needs to be reheated if left off. This shuts off automatically after brewing is complete yet keeps the coffee hot for at least 2 to 3 hours (it 'superheats' the water during brewing to extract the most flavor from the coffee, so it's very hot when it enters the thermal carafe to begin with).

2. It has an excellent charcoal-based water filtration system, so tap water is fine to use: no need to use pre-filtered or bottled spring water.

3. High-quality, reusable filter which is easy to clean.

4. Controls over strength of brew and temperature, and the programmable clock timer, are all on the large, bright LCD display.

Proctor Silex Cool-Touch Toaster

My favorite toaster EVER
The Proctor-Silex 22450 is not a fancy-looking product. If you need a fancy-looking designer toaster to impress somebody, get something else. But if you want a toaster that just does a great job for the money, this is a good choice. Its skin is insulating plastic and is very light in weight. You can just pick it up or slide back to put it away without ever burning your hand. This is a GREAT feature!

As with most toasters, you set the temp dial to the setting you want, pop your stuff in, and push down the load lever. With THIS toaster, if it is unplugged, your bread won't stay down. This is a super handy feature, because when someone unplugs your toaster to charge a cell phone or run the crock pot, you could be sitting there awhile before you notice.

Once you get it going, a red light comes on to tell you it's cooking. That red light doubles as an eject button to get your bread/poptart/muffin back right now, should you become impatient or realize your spouse...

Great Toaster . . . Great Value
Finally ... a toaster that does the job at a great price. Toasting is excellent - even on both sides. The cancel feature makes it very easy to stop action. And the lever for removing "difficult" pieces (raise lever up to push toasted item above the top of the toaster for easy removal - no more knives in the toaster) is a great feature and easy to use.
The only thing I found to be negative was that some very large bagels did not fit in the opening; could have been slightly larger. But overall, this toaster is an excellent bargain!
It replaced my previous Kitchen Aid ($100) and I couldn't be happier.

Minka Aire F517-WH Concept I 52 in. Indoor Ceiling Fan - White

Great Fans. Very, very quiet!!
We have only had these fans for about two weeks, but I would definitely recommend this fan to a friend. We replaced two Hunter fans that were about 20 years old; we could no longer get a new remote, nor any other parts, but the Hunter fans in our bedroom were very quiet, so this was a major consideration for us. We first sought to replace them with new Hunter fans, but they were so noisy we had to return them. We were told by someone who seemed knowledgeable that the current crop of Hunter fans (and presumably other manufacturers' fans) are not made with as heavy or as quiet a motor as 2 decades ago. I read all the reviews and choose the Minka Aire. I'm so glad I did. We installed two 52" Minka Aire fans with lights in our bedroom; easy installation for fans & lights. Did not know if we would like the more modern style of three blades (our Hunters had 5 blades). But, we really like the "new" look in our traditional bedroom, which has lots of glass. They are so...

Great Contemporary Fan
I bought 2 of these for the bedrooms and so far they look and work great. The installation was pretty painless and I love that the blades just snap into place as opposed to having to screw each blade as most fans require you to do. I got white to blend with the white 8' ceilings and the fan is not obtrusive at all.

The light is a little under-powered for larger rooms. The one bedroom is 12x10 and the light is sufficient, but not bright at full brightness. The other bedroom is 12x14 and the light is much dimmer. It should be fine unless you are looking to light up the entire room brightly enough to say, clean the carpets or something of that sort.

The fan is pretty quiet for the most part, with most of the sound being from the air movement of the blades, which was fine for me. The included remote works as expected. I leave mine running 24/7 so I wanted a fan that not only looked great, but would last long as well. I have had experience with Minka Aire in the past...

The fan went up very easily, more easily than Hunter's 5 minute fans. The fan has a sleek modern look. The fan is quiet, wobble free, and moves an incredible amount of air.

They're vacuum bags
These vacuum bags fit my Panasonic upright vacuum. So, that's good. I didn't have to make a trip to the store to buy them. So, that's good. The price was reasonable. So, that's three good things.

I received these belt in record time, just a few days; however, I received generic bags instead of Panasonic bags. When I contacted them, they immediately corrected the problem. I am very happy dealing with B&M and will definitely use them again. They stand behind their merchandise.

My Wife Favorite Birthday Gift
These bags hold alot of dirt and that is what my wife wants cause I bring in a ton of it. I love it cause it helps her pick-up after me so I don't half to. Whirlpool 74008064 Oven Igniter for Range

This is the 2nd time I am having to replace the igniter on this oven. Nothing is made to last anymore. I also notice that it takes a bit longer to heat up, not like before.

Do it yourself!
Easy to install yourself. Avoided an expensive service call. Should be able to install yourself in about 10 minutes. Highly recommend.

Very Cool
This fan is Money! I put it up in my living room and hooked it up to a Lutron Fan / Light Dimmer Switch. I can control the brightness of the lights and the speed of the fan from the switch on the wall. The fan is very powerful yet very quiet. At full speed, you can't even hear the motor, just the sound of the blades cutting through the air. The lights are perfect for my large living room. I have the lights directed to highlight parts / items in the room that I want to be seen. Instead of lighting the whole room, it provides great ambient / mood lighting (Especially with the dimmer). There is plenty of light, it obviously wont work in a kitchen unless you have other lights to supplement it.

Westinghouse Fan
I love the lighting option on this fan. It's far better than the typical dome lights. This is a quality built fan without a noisy motor.

The only thing we had trouble with was that there were plastic parts inside the motor compartment to protect it during shipping. We didn't see anything in the directions about removing them. This created a noise but as soon as we call technical support they knew exactly what we needed to do.

great modern fan
This fan was bought to remplace a 70's or 80's fan in my living room that had a cathedral celiing. the decor in my home has been updated and is quite modern. This fan looks great with all my furniture and wood work. the finishes are great with the exception of the pulls which are quite cheap and basically just plastic disks. Besides that my only complaint would be that this light is not meant to be your main living area light. It only puts a spot light in three different areas around the room which is fine as long as your living room is bright and open and you have other sources of lighting. We replaced the bulbs with led replacement bulbs for efficency and they work fine. The fan was easy to install and runs very smoothly and quietly. I would recommend this fan.

Contaminated water
Yes, it is cheaper than the OE replacement - but is it worth it. When I installed my new Kenmore 46-9690 Compatible Refrigerator Water and Ice Filter by Zuma, I got black contaminated water for the half gallon or so. After that, there were particles floating in the water. When I ran enough water through to clear that up, the water still had a salty taste and left me feeling like my mouth was coated with something.

People who have bad experiences usually run to write a negative review and I don't see any other negative reviews so hopefully this is an isolated experience.

Zojirushi NHS-18 10-Cup (Uncooked) Rice Cooker/Steamer & Warmer

Very Important
This is an excellent rice cooker but I would like to point out something very important. The directions say specifically that you must wash the rice in a strainer until the water that runs through them comes out clear. This is very important. If you are having problems with the rice bubbling up over the top of the rice cooker and getting on the counter, you probably aren't washing the rice or aren't washing it well enough. Also if you are having problems with a crust on the bottom of the rice, you probably aren't washing the rice or aren't washing it well enough. Start washing your rice and you probably won't see those two problems again. Also the rice comes out much fluffier and less gummy if you wash it.

The reason for this is that, when you get uncooked rice, there is a large amount of excess starch that is stuck to the outside of the rice that gets stuck there when the rice is processes.

i just wanted to add my two cents to help offset some of the negative reviews. i bought this particular cooker due to the positive reviews both here and on some other websites. i wanted a cooker due to being tired of cooking potatoes with most meals and getting tired of them. i received the unit very quickly and immediately tried it out. i wanted to try brown rice first, so i washed it briefly and put it in the machine to cook. shortly, a mass of bubbles filled below the lid and started 'sputtering' through the steam hole. not happy about the mess it was making, i endured it and ended up eating some fairly good rice with my first meal. i thought "yeah, they were right, it's messy, what a bummer". so, round two and three, i cooked some more, this time trying varieties of white rice and both resulting in a repeat of the first messy attempt, along with some 'browning' of the rices on the bottom of the pan. again i thought "this is no fun, friends or guests are going to think this is a...

Be sure to wash your rice...
I love my rice cooker and use it several times a week! But you need to wash your rice thoroughly before cooking. This will help with the "spitting water" problem the cooker has.

I enjoy using the steamer for kale, broccoli, cauliflower, or carrots. The only trick is learning when to put the veggies in while the rice is cooking so that the veggies don't overcook.

My brown rice tends to clump and stick on the bottom, even when the rice is washed. That's one problem that keeps me from rating this as a 5 star machine. The other problem is that the instruction booklet is poorly done. Brown rice needs to soak for 30 minutes before starting to cook.

Oster 6684 12-Speed Blender, Black

Look no further. This blender is AWESOME!
First, let me respond to a few poor reviews that made me a little concerned about purchasing this blender. One reviewer said "The little plastic "plug" in the lid fell through into the blender as I was using it". He may have gotten a defective one, but the one that I got would have no realistic way for the plastic "plug" to fall through the hole in the lid. It is very well made and would have to be forced VERY HARD for it to even have a chance of making it through - regardless of the angle at which you put the plug. Another reviewer said "the one I received had a jar that did not sit comfortably on base." Again, if that happened I hate it for that guy. The jar I got sat on the base quite well. Another reviewer said, "You CANNOT get your goods back out of this thing without making a mess." The blender I got is very easy to pour from.

I actually own the Oster 6646 but am writing the review here because the 6646 appears to be no longer caried by Amazon and the 6684 is simply the black version of the 6646.

First, the good: This blender does a very good job of blending ingredients, including frozen ones, into drinks of consistent texture. No lumpy pieces of fruit or bits of ice hiding in the drink. It also does a good job of pulling the ingredients down the side of the jar and around the blades so that everything gets blended properly.

Now, the bad: Shortly after my 1-year warranty expired, I turned on my blender one day and it abruptly turned off after about one second. I actually think this was my fault as I didn't have the jar seated quite right and I had some ice cubes at the bottom of the jar right by the blades. At any rate, to make a long story short I was left with the option to either (a) pay to get the blender repaired, which would have cost over half what one costs new; (b) throw...

Really good blender!
This is my first blender, and I'm sure there are many other good blenders out there. However I would love to explain why I chose this particulare one and why I love it so much.

It's simple to use, easy to take apart for cleaning, although the base is plastic it is very strong and the gear for the blade in the base is metal unlike the higher end more expensive models which use a plastic or nylon gear. And still, the base is not flimsy and something that can easily break. It really is designed very well with a nice weight to stay put on your counter when blending. It won't be tipping over.

Actually, I would prefer the base made how Oster did this with the plastic/nylon instead of metal, keeping the cost way down instead of $90 to $100 just to have an all metal base.

When I got my Oster 12-speed Blender, trying it out I really liked seeing how powerful the motor is. Actually alot more powerful then I expected for what I paid for it.

Great Tea Kettle
I am very pleased with this tea kettle. I was hesitant after I read some reviews that indicated it poured sloppily and dripped. I trust KitchenAid so I bought it anyway. I don't know if these users were trying to pour through the whistle hole or why they had trouble. I open the whistle top over the spout (it has a silicone covered lever) and have had absolutley no problem pouring from this tea kettle. It heats water quickly and pours easily without dripping and has a great warranty. It also comes in great colors!

Nice look but needs a fluted spout and is not rust-proof
The good: this kettle looks very nice, and it's got a rubberized grip so you can pour immediately after taking the kettle off without having to worry about burning yourself.

The bad: the spout is not fluted, so if you're tilting the kettle up to get the last of the water out, the hot water runs around the edge of the spout, falls off in half a dozen places, and makes a puddle of steaming water around your tea cup. If you happen to have your hand on the cup's handle, ready to take it away, you'll burn yourself.

Also, this kettle rusted within six weeks of purchase. I do not recommend this kettle for anyone intending to get serious use out of it.

I've had this kettle for about a year now and it looks so good on my stove. The handle stays cool and I like the little spout lid flipper. No burned fingers removing the whistler as on my old kettle. When pouring water, it does tend to splatter, but I've found if I wait a short time, then pour, that doesn't happen.

I have the bissle lift off steam mop. The shape of this pad is awkward on the square shaped head of the mop and i find it pulls off easily. The quality of the mop pad is thick and very good.

I bought my Samsung 2-door 2-drawer at Lowe's locally. It is a unique frig as the 2 bottom drawers are side by side not stacked. I've heard they no longer make these and that means they no longer carry the water filters for them either. Luckily I was able to find it on Amazon! Whewwww that's a relief, because I've found it actually lasts almost a year before changing them out, which is great too!

KEEPS MY HOME COZY WARM
We live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC and the winters can be quite harsh. Our 3200 sq ft home is heated by a natural gas furnace. After watching Bob Villa's infomercial we puchased the EdenPURE GEN4 HEATER and we couldn't be happier. This is our 3rd winter using the heater. We shut off a portion of the house by closing doors and only heat that area with the heater. This heater will keep our bedroom, hallway, den and kitchen at a very comfortable temperature and I am cold natured. Last winter we spent less than $300 on natural gas because we used the EdenPURE as a supplemental heat source. Our electricity bill only increased about $15-$20 per month. This is an excellent product and in 3 years of use we have never had any issues with the unit.

Beware!!! these heaters are not built to last.

I have now been the unfortunate owner of a gen 3 and Gen 4 Edenpure heaters. I have yet to have one of these heaters make it through an entire winter season. I bought my first Edenpure in October, 2010. I stared using the heater at the end of November beginning of December. The heater stopped heating at the end of January 2011. So after barely 2 months of daily use the heater stopped heating.

I live in Arkansas so the winters are mild at best. Rarely dose it ever dip below 20 degrees at night. Most of the time the temperature is between 30-40 degrees. Since I was just barely over the 3 month mark I could not return this item for a refund. Instead I had to settle for an exchange. I received my exchanged unit on February 21st, 2011. I used the until the end of April and boxed it up and stored it until the next winter season. So I start...

I love the EdenPure heater.
We bought our first EdenPure a couple of winters ago and I used it to heat the upstairs of our old farmhouse where my home office was. It sure was so much better and cheaper to run than the old small heaters that I used to run. It is quiet and even though I had the heater in the hallway, I could feel the heat surround me in my office 15 feet or more away. We loaned our heater to my in-laws to use in their livingroom while my father-in-law was in end stages of cancer and it has not come back as my mother-in-law uses it daily for extra warmth. LG WM8000HVA

Extreamly poor service
Purchased LG washer on 02Dec12, when it was delivered it did not work. The first technician that diagnosed it could not figure out what was wrong and stated that it needs to be sent back. LG sent out another technician who stated that a part needs to be backordered, the part never came in and was backordered again. It is going on three months now and we have to go to a laundry mat because LG and Appliance Connection cannot figure out what is wrong with their new model washer and are unwilling to exchange it or take back the set.

I bought this washer with only one review and it was bad. I'm glad I did not let the review influence me. Thing is that I think the person just has bad luck, so don't let this reflect on the quality and reliability. Spin cycle is super fast and shake free. Drum is quite large and swallows large loads with ease. The washer is very quiet and with all the wash options and the tub actions you can really tell the laundry is going to get thoroughly clean.

This washer is fantastic. It easily washes all of my king size comforter sets. It's so quiet I have to check to see if it's running!

Red Tool Box Cordless Drill

Wow - what a price difference! (Seller - not item rating)
I was interested in buying this item for my 2 sons, but there was only one available on Amazon, from another seller. This is fortunate for me, because when I searched for it elsewhere, I found the same exact item at Lowes.com - regularly priced $15.99 - it was on sale for $11.99. Certainly a big difference from the $59.99 that the seller was offering it for.

Just goes to show that you should know what you are buying, and check prices elsewhere.

I gave it 3 stars because the item is perfectly fine - it's just that the seller price is terrible.

Another Over-Priced Red Toy Tool
I paid full price for this item in a boutique before I really got into woodworking with my son. We assembled the pre-cut toolbox and bought all the tools that accompany this (a package with a saw, clap, measuring tape, hammer). It was cute for his birthday party, but not practical. In general, these items are way over-priced and do not perform as well as "real" tools. Bottom line: they are toys. This drill's battery never really kept a decent charge, and it was finally thrown out when it melted (super-dangerous) while charging. Now my garage smells like melted plastic and battery acid (did I mention it's dangerous?).

Even if you don't get a defective product, it's a waste of money. Get a real drill at Walmart for 1/2 the price.

I have had only one canister vacuum before, a Miele and I HATED it. It was crap to drag around. THIS little guy on the other hand, is an absolute pleasure!! And since I am 6' tall - the first thing I did was make the handle wand longer, and you could be 8' tall, it would be long enough for you! YAY!!!

Powerful, lightweight, tiny, Dyson-like
The saying goes that imitation is the highest form of flattery. In the world of vacuums, the heavily advertised and sexy (if an appliance can possibly wear that adjective) Dyson line, seems to set the design standard other manufacturers want to copy. (This new Hoover looks remarkably like the DC47 which is three times the price.) But beyond the initial "curb appeal", what is this vac all about? The first reaction when lifting it out of the box is, wow, this thing is really tiny! That also makes it very light, compact and easily stored. The plastic canister is about the size of a gallon of bottled water. Overall design is equally compact and functional to make use of every centimeter. Great Compact Performer and an Amazing Value
How does the Hoover WindTunnel SH40070 compare to the more expensive Dyson DC39? I have an opportunity to compare the two similar vacuum cleaners with the Hoover at less than half the price point of the Dyson.

Here's the situation: We still have our working Dyson upright purchased nearly 10 years ago, so when we decided to replace it for home use (the upright can't get through tiny walkways and such), we went with Dyson again. We bought a canister model, the Dyson DC39.

At half the price point, Amazon gave my wife and me the opportunity to own and review the Hoover SH40070.

A Nice Compliment to My Deep Fryer & Crock Pot
I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I wanted a stylish electric skillet. I did not want one with a non-stick coating, as those tend to flake off over time. I wanted something that had enough eye-appeal to use on a buffet table or to carry to potlucks. Typically, I use this skillet for lightly fried Italian dishes like scallopini, breaded zucchini, and chicken piccata. Having a temperature dial is useful when making these dishes as you can easily keep the oil at proper temperature to crisp the food without getting it soggy. This skillet does tasks that my deep fryer and crock pot do not do well. Basically, a deep fryer is too large for scallopini, and a crock pot is too deep for certain buffet presentations. I have been looking for a large, high quality skillet, electric frying pan for a while. I decided to replace my current non-stick pan because it just didn't work right. It didn't get hot enough and scratched easily. The last time i used it i got so frustrated i unplugged it and walked out the door and threw it in the trash, still hot. so i began to research. I found Publix employees cooking with this skillet. They don't want anything else. I admired it for a long time, and have loved the food they've prepared in it, and now I have it for myself. Hoover Platinum Cyclonic Bagless Upright Vacuum, UH70015

Good, but a few things you need to know
We went through our second Dyson, and decided to switch just for the sake of doing so. Aside from the really high end European models, we opted for this new "prestige" line from Hoover, figuring it would be interesting to see what's the best they can do at a higher price point.

The machine itself looks really good, and when you turn it on, it's like starting a nice car, it almost purrs. The electronic start/stop and the electronic height adjustments are fabulous, very refined. And the machine seems to pick up everything in site.

Now, here are a few things to keep in mind, none of which are deal-breakers, but believe me, this thing is not perfect.

First and foremost, emptying the dirt chamber. At first we thought it was like most other bagless machines, you flick a lever and let the stuff fall in your garbage. But after about a week, we noticed the machine not picking up nearly as well, and we couldn't figure out a thing.

This is One Outstanding Vacuum
I recently had to pick up a new vacuum when my old vacuum (an upright that wasn't supposed to lose suction, but which broke down and stopped sucking altogether. At least stopped sucking dirt from the floor, that is) went kaput, and I did some research, trying to find one that was sturdy, had the extra tools, and really picked up dirt. I have two large-ish (50 - 70 pound) dogs that shed a bit, track in some dirt, and can cause carpet chaos, so I really wanted to bring home a powerhouse this time. I liked the early reviews I'd seen on this new Hoover Platinum, and liked how it combined cyclonic action (which I thought was one of those marketing terms, but which actually makes some cleaning sense) and Hoover's own Windtunnel mechanisms (my mom swears by her Hoover she's had forever with this, and hey, you have to be able to trust your mom, right), and so decided it was the vacuum for me. And, I'm darn happy so far that I did. It just picks up more dirt and dog hair from the carpet and...

I have used this vacuum for about a year and I am quite happy with it. I suffer from allergies and researched for a vacuum that would do a great job without a +$500 tag. If you're in a similar position, see the PROs/CONs of my experience so far, and exaggerated information (IMO) out there:

1. Filtration system, including reusable HEPA filter: This vacuum traps everything, including allergens like dust mites (according to manufacturer's claims). But I did notice a significant improvement with my allergies after I started using this vacuum. The washable HEPA filter gives me control over the vacuum's performance by allowing me to clean it and without the need for replacement filters every couple months.

2. Suction system: This is my first Hoover, and I was so impressed with the suction system. It picked up dust left behind my old vacuum, and even the dust found under the carpet.

Hamilton Beach 72705 Deluxe Food Chopper, Black

Glad I purchased this!
As with all food processors, this one doesn't always get everything chopped uniformly. (But that is the case w/all food processors) What sold me on this one is the "small batch tool". Sometimes you only have a few things to chop and they end up flying to the top and never getting chopped. This tool prevents this. And it is convenient to have the spatula that attaches to the back always on hand.

Warm up thoroughly
The Palmer Pizzelle Maker works great. When we got it, we unpacked it, scanned the directions, and began making pizzelles. They came out delicious. Just one warning!!! Make sure to thoroughly warm up the iron. On our second attempt to make pizelles for my in-laws, my wife and I, apparently, did not allow the right amount of warm up time. We put the batter in, closed the lid, and when we opened it... YIKES, we had a pizzelle mess, two different halfs of the pizzelle stuck to the top and bottom irons. It was a pain to get it cleaned. But after cleaning and re-heating, the iron worked wonders again.
So remember to warm up the iron to the allotted time and you should get very tastey pizzelles, just like great grandma used to make (which is why I bought this one...she used the stove top one though).

LifeSmart LS-1000HH13 1200 Sq Ft Infrared Quartz Electric Portable Heater Black

Can't heat close to 1200sqft. In fact, couldn't even heat 250sqft. effectively
This review is for all three LifeSmart heaters I purchased, and tested, using both a thermometer and a Kill-A-Watt unit. The models purchased were the 800sqft model, the 1200sqft model, and the 1500sqft model. I am not even going to bother with the model numbers because 1) they all suck, 2) LifeSmart changes model numbers from year to year even though it is the same exact unit, and 3) ...see #1. (I know this because I found two identical units in the store yet one had a slightly different model number and was produced two years ago compared to the newer produced on. Identical design, identical specs, identical instructions, etc.)

None of these can get even close to heating the square footage they claim. NOT EVEN CLOSE! I would venture to guess that most of the people giving this or other LifeSmart heaters high reviews have no clue how small a space they are actually heating when they test this.

Folks, the math isn't that hard.
If your room is 10' x 10'...

Works well for the price
It's on the middle to upper end of the infared heaters that are like this. It's great that it comes with 2 remotes (though you do have to provide your own batteries). It's quick to heat up and has a cool down feature when you shut it off so the blower stays on an extra minute or so. The thermostat works pretty well though since it sets at ground level the temps aren't overly accurate for keeping a room at a set temp. If it were higher up in the room it would probably do better.

As such I'd highly recommend it as it does work well and heats up nicely

Nesco 4816-12G 6-Quart Roaster Oven with Glass Lid, Porcelain Coated Cookwell, Red

so far, so great!
i purchased a hamilton beach slow cooker/crock pot a little over a year ago on amazon. i used it maybe 6 times at most. the last time i used it, the ceramic insert stress cracked all the way around. i am a very careful person and it was NOT my fault. to order a new insert would have cost (with shipping) more than i paid for the whole pot so i ditched it and began a search for something better.
i ran across the Nesco and did some online research on it. it sounded like the answer for me.
it came last week (from amazon) and i followed the "smoke out" directions and then made my first meal in it last night....my take on a chicken stew recipe that was included in the manual. omg! it was wonderful.
one meal does not a satisfied customer make but i think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship between me and my Nesco. if things change, i'll update this review. this review is for the 6 qt. red roaster with porcelain cookwell...no more ceramic for me although...

Better than a Crockpot
I made the mistake earlier this year of purchasing a crockpot thinking I could control the heat settings. When I found I could not, I was back at Amazon hunting for an alternative, and this was it. The temperature gauge runs from 200 to 400 degrees, so you can use the lower settings like a crockpot, and the higher for roasting, baking, and steaming. The cookwell on this particular unit is made of metal, so I do not have to worry about it cracking and breaking like crockpots and having to purchase a whole new unit when it does. It cleans up in a snap with a little bit of Dawn and baking soda. It is removable and dishwasher safe too. I can now look forward to next summer of baking/roasting on the back porch rather than heating up the house inside. I wish I had known about these roaster ovens decades ago. I would have bought one back then instead of wasting so much $$$$ replacing crockpots over the years.

Handy, Budget Portable Cooker OR what maybe a CHEaP way to introduce Sous-vide!
Our crock-pot died years ago. We have not tried to replace it with another electric until this was offered to test as part of the Vine program.

Our family regularly braises meals using several (oven/ stovetop) braising pans (le Creuset, Mauviel). Although I recommend these pans highly, they must be attended and are expensive. I wanted to, in part, test and compare them against an electric version. But there is more to the suitability of this product than that comparison, as I will explain. This review is longer than normal for me, I will try not to disappoint. Let me start with what is the hook for me.

Something the manufacturer did not intend (and far more interesting to me) is that an appliance like this (heating from the sides and not from the bottom) might be the most economical way to be introduced to Sous-vide. Whirlpool Part Number 3949247 Washer Lid Switch

A word of caution
I was happy with the price and speed with which the item was delivered (long before the estimated delivery dates).
My first observation on checking the switch before installation was that it didn't click when the lever was depressed, to indicate the switch was on. However in spite of this the switch did work when installed. Problem is one week later the switch stopped working while I was doing my laundry, and I'm still not sure why.

Works great after 2 months.
Paid for next day air, installed in less than 45 minutes. I saved a minimum of $45.00 dollars from having a service technician come out.

Some did not work.Had to ad shims to make them work, had to return second time to repair switch. Will not order again. poor quailey

Whirlpool 8205217 Vent Grille for Microwave

Just what the doctor ordered
Was in need of a replacement vent grille for an apartment I was moving out of. Apparently, the clasp that held it in place were old and it popped out one day while opening the door. Check with the leasing office which offered to replace it but it would cost way more than necessary, so we did a bit of checking around and found this replacement, it was the right size, came with the clasps attached and snapped right into place out of the box. It was just what we needed.

Just what I had expected !
The package came in just under a week and it was perfect. It was a replacement for the one on the microwave that had broken during cleaning ( I dropped it ) I am totally satisfied.

Lookin good
Made my microwave look like new again. Fits better than the original even has an extra clip on the top to keep it more secure.

Hoover Portable Bagged Canister Vacuum, S1361

Good Looks - don't count
Purchased this Hoover 3 months ago. I currently have a Eureka Mighty Mite and decided that I wanted to have another lightweight canister vacuum for downstairs. I happened to come across the Hoover Bright Orange canister vacuum and thought it was so neat looking, and since it was a Hoover - how could you go wrong.

Well the problems are as follows: suction - fair at best; wand connecting to the head won't stay put - it keeps coming apart no matter how hard you push the wand into the head; the bag - since I wasn't getting any suction I checked the bag and found that though it was only half-filled, the bottom of the bag had disintegrated - this happened twice. I'm not sure if this was due to its close proximity to the filter/motor, but I have never had a bag do this on any other vacuum cleaner I've owned.

Sorry to say, but it's a great looking vacuum, but that's the only thing going for it.

Definitely buy the Eureka Mighty Mite if you're looking for a...

Looks good, performs ok, falls apart though
I love to look at my little orange hoover and it doesn't do a bad job of cleaning up a 1 bed apartment that includes hard wood floors and a shaggy rug. But!!! It is SO annoying to use because the "telescoping chrome wands" will not stay fixed together. You will spend half of your cleaning time putting the attachements together...and watch out when they fall they don't break something. I hope Hoover read these reviews and change this design fault. Until they do I recommend you go for something else.

Hoover Canister ORANGE vacuum
I LOVE this little orange vacuum! A lot of design and thought went into this vacuum. It's light, but pretty powerful considering the size. IT's perfect for my little house with hardwood floors and oriental rugs. I can literally carry it while vacuuming and it has a dial that you can actually vary the degree of suction with. In other words you can turn the suction down far enough to dust delicate things like lamp shades, or up enough to vacuum rugs! I've never seen this feature in any vacuum before and I love it. It only has one attachment though, which is why I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5. It really could use a corner attachment so you could vacuum corners with something other than the metal pipe, (or the samll brush) that will scratch hardwood floors.

Brentwood 6" Non-Stick Electric Skillet Model SK-45

Wonderful!
I am on oxygen and can't use gas products. I purchased this skillet n use it everyday, it's wonderful. I add water to the pan n cook my hot dogs also. Easy clean up.

Disappointed
The temp control never raised the temperature high enough for frying. I could have returned it but it was too big a hassle but I did write the company to let them know. I did not have high expectations at the outset and should have known that the price was too low for the quality I expected. Problem is that few people carry items designed for small households and shopping on the internet is a crap shoot.

Samsung Cbf Signal - Rf Ntsc U Part # Bn39-01154P

good connection for HD antenna
we needed this connection for our Samsung TV to access HDTV directly from an antenna so we have free HD local channels.

55" Samsung LED
Did some research online after losing this part so I can go to OTA broadcast TV. It looks like this part will work with any model, honestly can't tell you exactly which model I have, but it's a 55" LED 240hz Samsung (like 7000 series I think). I bought it in 2011.

Well it is original equipment after all
It does exactly what it's supposed to...connect your Cable TV or digital antenna coaxial cable to the Samsung TV. It is pricey, but if you lost the one that came with the TV, like I did, serves you right! (Btw, I found no other option, or adapter, that worked)

Broan QS230SS Allure II 30-Inch Under-Cabinet Range Hood, Stainless Steel

Quiet and good looking
My handyman installed this without incident. The appearance is sleek and modern, complementing a stainless range. The fan is not tool loud and works well for the rear burners. One feature that is a bit disconcerting is that it exhausts some air from the top of the hood to cool the light bulbs. It makes me wonder if this is why it captures less fumes than I would like from the front of the stove.

UPDATE 12/05/09 FIVE stars!***** Based on advice in the first comment on my review, I had the installation checked, and in fact, the baffle was diverting part of the exhaust from the duct to the top front vents, as though it were a ductless installation. Now there is no more exhaust air at all coming out of the top front vents. I did a smoke test, and the hood now draws from the front burner area. This hood, properly installed, works as well as it looks--and that is saying a lot. Check R. Parkinson's comment for advice on correct installation of the baffle.

Fan works great on ONE side--shipping was excellent
Exhaust fan looks great, but I'm a little disappointed that the fan motor is only on one side instead of in the middle. The exhaust pulls great on the left side of the stove, but not as good on the right and the detailed instructions with the exhuast fan even tell you that the right side will not exhaust as well as the left. I wish this fact was also included in the description of the product. If so, I may have bought another brand. If you are installing this fan, make sure you take off the section on the front where the lights are mounted which will gain you better access to installing the exhaust fan under the cabinet. The instructions do not tell you this and if you take that part off before you start installing, it's a lot easier. We found this out too late after my husband had screwed in the back part to the under cabinet. Make sure you order the halogen lights which add so much to the brightness of the cooking area. It's So Alluring and I Can See the Light!
This is a great hood that looks sharp above my new gas stove -- much better than the old microwave with hood! I really like the fact you can use halogen bulbs, which make things really bright for cooking. There are 3 fan speeds and 3 light settings. I'm very happy, even though my setup is ventless, it still gets the job done -- quietly, too. The fact you can use this in any configuration is a wonderful feature. Thanks, Broan!

Honeywell TRN1727R1/E 5-Inch High Efficiency Air Cleaner Filter, 27-Inch by 17.5-Inch by 5-Inch

works for trane
I got the 27x14.5x5 version to replace a Trane Perfect Fit BAYFTFREXM2 filter. This one works just fine as a replacement. This filter has its own cardboard cage which doesn't fit inside the black plastic frame part of the original filter, so just set the frame aside and use this filter just as it is. It fits very close to perfectly and I couldn't detect any significant amount of air leakage around the edges once it was installed.

No idea how the filtration or lifetime compares to the original yet.

Bad craftsmanship.
I'm quite dissappointed with the quality of this filter. The pleats are crooked, like lazy "S's". All over the filter, not only at one area where it caved in because of poor handling, possibly. The "separators" (I don't really know what they are called), those triangular shaped cardboards that keep the pleats evenly spaced are sticking out. I spent a few minutes straightening out the pleats before
installation. I'm not an engineer but I understand enough mechanical suff to see that efficiency will suffer if the mountains and valleys are not uniform. The more surface area of the filter is exposed, the better. If those pleats stick together then that surface area is lessened. With the summer heat at its peak I need those filters doing their job.
The filter it replaced has much better quality and I bought it on-line too, most likely here at Amazon, but a different maker. I just forgot which one (should have kept the receipt). Dissappointing product from a big...

Great price and product
Fit perfectly and looks much better that the one that came with the furnace or that I have been getting locally.
